Causeway Link Express Bus Johor - Singapore

For research purpose, I decided to take the express bus to Singapore one morning. I left home at 6.45 to go to the Gelang Patah terminal (which is less than 10 minutes drive from East Ledang). The bus departed at 6.55, arrived at Johor 2nd Link custom in around 15 minutes time. Since it was early in the morning, there was not much queue at the immigration checkpoints, so I was able to clear immigration pretty quickly. However, you do need to get off the bus at each checkpoint (Johor & Singapore). You'll find that people rush a lot to ensure that they will get a seat in the bus. I was too slow and too lazy to run around, so I ended having to stand throughout most of my bus trip. I arrived at the Jurong East bus interchange terminal at around 7.40. The bus trip costs RM4.

Overall, it was not a very bad trip and it's great to have alternatives transport in case if I am not able to drive to work in Singapore.

The buses do operate on very regular time intervals. You can find more details about the bus schedule here.

  1. How did you leave from your home: by bus or by taxi? I find that gelang patah is under developed land and look like singapore in the 1960s. When do you think the roads and buses will be improved?

  2. Hi gazza,

Thanks for reading my blog. My husband dropped me off at the gelang patah bus station. One of our neighbors also do the same thing everyday (husband catch bus home from Jurong and wife picks him up from gelang patah bus stop.

I'm not sure when the area will be developed more, hopefully soon because the educity universities are opening soon.

    Cheers

  3. Hi, I would like to ask you on the waiting of CW3 bus at Gelang Patah Bus Terminal.
    1) Does there have any signboard at GP Terminal indicating the bus CW3 to Jurong East Interchange?
    2) How much does it cost from GP Terminal to JE Interchange? RM 4?
    3) How long is your waiting time at GP Terminal for the arrival of bus CW3?

    1. Hi Tracey, sorry for my late reply. I usually just try my luck and head to station directly. You can check the timetable on the site. When you arrive at the Gelang Patah station, ask staff at the counter for next bus and they'll tell you what time and which bus to get on. It's pretty straightforward. Fee is RM4.
