    1. Hi Marcus,

      Apologies for my late reply.

Assessment tax: A local property tax, which is based on the annual rental value of a property. It is determined by local authorities, generally at a rate of six percent for residential properties and is payable in two instalments annually.

Quit Rent: A local property tax, which applies to all properties and is calculated on an annual rate of one to two sen per square foot. Quit rent liability is generally less than RM 100,00 annually.

  3. Hi Erika,
I bought a unit of apartment at at Sri Mutiare years ago - in the 90's

Todate I did not receive any notification for payment of Quit Rent and Assessment. I have only the unit number of the property. How do I go about to pay my Quit Rent & Assessment online without the notification and account number?
Do I have to go to the land office personally?

    1. Hi Tc Tan, in your purchase agreement, you should see some lot numbers info I believe, and you can use that to search online. I believe for one of the rates to be paid, they won't send you a notification.
