Legoland Waterpark is Open

Yeay, the LEGOLAND Waterpark is finally opened! The waterpark features 20 rides and attractions and over 70 LEGO® models, with key higlights such as Build-A Raft River where kids customize their own raft made of soft LEGO bricks before floating down a lazy river.

You can purchase 1-Day Theme Park and Water Park Combo Ticket online for RM140 & RM112 adult and child respectively.

I managed to upgrade my annual pass to premium pass to include entrance to waterpark. Looking forward to visiting soon.

Congratulations LEGOLAND!

Air Asia Johor - Jakarta flights from Senai Airport

Afternoon everyone,

Thank you to my readers who have stayed with me throughout these years. It's always nice to meet some of you in person and hear that my blog has been useful in helping your move to Johor. That's the main reason why I started blogging 3 years ago and still continuing to do so (albeit less frequent now). Thanks for your readership!

Before Hari Raya, we went back to Jakarta to spend time with my family. It was James' first flight ever so we were a bit nervous but he was such a good boy throughout the trip.

It's so nice to finally have direct flights between Johor Jakarta. Johor Jakarta flights are operated by AirAsia and flight time is o average 2 hours 50 minutes.

AirAsia flies 4 x a week to Jakarta from Johor.

The Flight Schedule is: (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday)
QZ 8189 Johor Bahru – Jakarta; 16:50 hours – 17:45 hours
QZ 8188 Jakarta – Johor Bahru; 13:15 hours – 16:10 hours

Trip cost ~ RM250++ one way.

The arrival is in T3 CGK which is great, the other two terminals in Jakarta airport is jurrasic and pretty embarrassing!

On our way to Jakarta, we met with other family who came for 2 days holiday to visit Legoland. On the way back to Johor, there were so many Indonesian tourists who came here for the Hari Raya holiday. Legoland has definitely started to make names for Indonesians, woohoo! There should be increasing no of Indonesian tourists and investors soon, if not ready.

Let's hope that AirAsia will start a Johor - Bali flight route soon!

Happy Friday everyone!

This water park sits on a large area equivalent to 50 football fields and is now 70% complete. Driving past Legoland, we can also see the hotel construction progressing. Can't wait to have more entertainment options nearby, great job Legoland!

Legoland Preview

By now, I'm sure most people would have read about the weekend previews of Legoland. A friend of mine went last week so I asked her to share some pictures with us. She found that it was a good entertainment for her kid and good value for money, though food wasn't exactly that great yet (I'm sure this will change over time). Reviews seem to be qreat so far, I'm looking forward to visiting soon!

This is so cute!!!!

Cute Chrome App: Build Legos in Chrome with Google Build

Good morning everyone, weekend is finally here again and I hope you are having a great weekend.

Here's something that may help you to relax and enjoy your weekend. Google Build has been launched for Singapore and through this site you can build lego structures in Google's browser Chrome. Could be a good way to prepare for Legoland Malaysia launch :)

Speaking of Legoland, it's 76 days til the official opening of Legoland Malaysia. We've just bought annual passes (tickets can be purchased here). Looking forward to the opening!

Johor tourist arrivals to increase after Legoland opens & Checkpoint traffic update

I hope both Singapore and Malaysia Immigration checkpoints have started planning on expanding and improving the immigration process and capacity, especially at Tuas 2nd Link. Daily morning queues at Singapore Tuas checkpoint has been very bad and miserable these 2 weeks. I've tried being at the SG checkpoint at 6.40 am, 7.30 am, 7.40 am, 8.30 am and almost all were equally as bad with cars lined up to 3/4 of bridge at one point. I do seriously hope that SG checkpoint will start doing something to ease the queue.

Legoland Johor is 75% complete & set to open on 15th Sept

Legoland Johor is on track to open its doors on 15th September 2012. The development is 75% complete and is expected to receive 10,000 to 15,000 visitors per day. More than 35,000 annual passes have also been sold across the region since last December. Another article also reported on agreement signed between Merlin Entertainments Group and LL Themed Hotel Sdn Bhd to develop and build Legoland Hotel in Nusajaya.

I can't wait for Legoland to open and I seriously hope that Johor immigration office will increase their capacity @ Tuas checkpoint!

Progress of Legoland Johor Development

Update 7th Feb 2012:
It turns out that I've mistaken another site for the Legoland site :)

Here are some pictures of the real development of Legoland - enjoy:

You can see Legoland starting to take shape when you drive on Lebuhraya highway (heading back to East Ledang from Bukit Indah). I took these pictures a few weeks ago.

The park is due to be officially opened in second quarter of this year and is expected to target 1M visitors in its first 12 months of operation.

Annual passes are available for sale at AirAsiaRedTix and Legoland Malaysia websites.
Can't wait for Legoland Johor to be opened! All the best to Siegfried and team for getting the park completed and launched.

Legoland urged to lower entry rates

The entrance fees for Asia's first ever Legoland theme park in Nusajaya are too high for locals, said Malaysian Tourists Guides Council president Jimmy Leong.

Based on Legoland Malaysia's site, the price of 1-day ticket for adult is RM140 while ticket for child is RM110. It looks like it's definitely worth getting the annual pass which will be made available at special opening rate of RM195 for adult and RM150 for child.
